CiTRA Open Day 2015 Overview
CiTRA Open Day 2015 was the first event organized by the Centre
for International Islamic Culture (CiTRA) and aimed to introduce the beauty of
cultures to the communities of IIUM. Gema Gangsa IIUM also participated in the
activities during CiTRA Open Day which were the cultural Booth Exhibition and
Cultural Night.
The theme used to decorate Gema Gangsa booth is the Malay Royal
design, we focused on the main colour which is the royal yellow and add in a
few props to symbolize the Malay traditional culture. Members in charge of the
booth were also asked to wear Malay traditional clothing as to attract visitors
and promote the beauty of the Malay heritage. Alhamdulillah, on the 10th
and 11th of February, we received many visitors and most are
interested to join our big family.
While for the members involved with the Cultural Night, they
started their training a few weeks earlier, this is due to the reason that all
other cultural clubs were performing together in one event, hence, this is where
intensive training are needed to ensure the quality of their performance during
the show. They finished their sound check the day before the big event and had
their last rehearsal during the day of the 11th February. At night,
they gave their best shot.
Alhamdulillah, the main hall was full and crowded with spectators from both local and international students. The crowds were amazed
with all of the performances and they were very satisfied to get the
opportunity to experience the magic of the Cultural Night themselves.
One of the spectators gave us an amazing feedback from the show “I am very satisfied with the performance, they are the best and it is not easy to see these kind of performances, the technical problems, they are normal to occur in every shows and events. I hope to see more traditional performances like this in the future, thank you”
To sum up, from the beginning till the closure was full of
fun. We gained a lot of experience and skills during the process. Gema Gangsa
IIUM is looking forward to participating in more events like this and we would
like to thank everyone involved in the CiTRA Open Day 2015 especially our
beloved teachers Cikgu Ku Zahir, Abang Ku Nazarudin and all the committees and
players for your amazing effort and commitments.
